How to Care for Your Skin in Your 20s

Your roaring twenties can take a toll on your skin. Late nights with friends, endless parties, and stress from a new job are all factors that accelerate the appearance of the signs of aging, also improperly called premature aging. Stick to this skincare routine, and you’ll look back and be happy that you did when people are mistaking you for 25 when you’re actually 35. Here are some basic skincare tips for your 20s. Remember that aging starts at birth and that it is in our power to limit its rate by avoiding and removing age-provoking damage.

Clean Up

If you don’t already wash your face every night, start now. All of the grit and grime from makeup, dirt, and skin oil can lead to more than just zits. Exfoliation is a great complement to cleansing, particularly when one uses a non-acid exfoliator such as Chestnut extracts.

Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

Wear an eye cream that contains SPF every single day. The thin, delicate skin around your eyes can get wrinkles over time if exposed to sun every day if only for just a couple of minutes.

Speaking of SPF, it’s important to slather the rest of your face with an SPF moisturizer every day to protect it from harmful UV rays. It is recommended to use SPF 30 (against UVB) associated with a broad spectrum protection, which limits the damage from the UVA.

Take Your Antioxidants

These molecules are a girl’s best friend in her fight against free radicals – those pesky particles that are found in air and are released in the course of the inflammatory process and lead to the early appearance of the signs of aging, also called (albeit improperly) premature aging. Eat a diet rich in fruits, veggies, and products ripe with vitamins A, C, and E to keep your skin tight and toned. Again, be aware that not everything one eats goes on the skin, so, for instance, to be helpful to the skin, vitamin E has to be applied on the skin.

Bottoms Up

Feel gorgeous from the inside out by drinking the recommended six to eight cups of water per day and achieving perfect, 20-year-old skin care. Not only will you stay hydrated, but your skin will too.

Get a Great Basic Moisturizer

The best ones actually suck water from the air and into your skin. Find moisturizers that contain Vitamin C and Vitamin E and Vitamin B3 to keep your skin baby-soft for years to come.

Smooth It Out

Exfoliate with a night serum every evening to remove all of those squames that did not shed off and reveal glowing, soft skin.

It’s critical to take care of your skin in your 20s to reduce the process of accelerated, premature aging. Remember that aging is accumulation of damage. If one could reduce the rate of accumulating damage by 50%, the first wrinkle would appear at the age of sixty, not at the age of thirty.
